Entry #1.My Love for Sports
My Love for Sports
Growing up, life was somewhat difficult. I started school with no knowledge of English because Spanish was my first language. Communicating was the hardest for me, but little by little I improved. When I was 7 years old, my dad opened a little family restaurant near our childhood home. Since then my parents, two siblings, and I have been working there. Every Sunday my dad would take me to play soccer, but as time went on, the restaurant needed more attention and staff so I was forced to quit to help my dad instead. From a young age, my passion has been sports, if I wasn't playing them I was watching them. I spent the vast majority of my childhood watching sports highlights hoping that one day that'll be me playing in the big leagues. One can only dream.
One of my favorite activities to do would be playing sports. I mainly play soccer and baseball but I enjoy trying out any sport. Sports is my favorite thing to do because it makes me happy and it brings out the little boy in me. I started playing soccer at a young age, following my brother's footsteps. It was difficult for me because I played goalie, to be a goalie you had to be fast, tall, and willing to put your body on the line. That was a huge issue for me because I wasn't fast or tall and I was scared to get hit with the ball. The only reason I remained goalie was because I wasn't very good at any other position. Despite my physical appearance, I enjoyed every second of playing. I remember I used to love going to practice, where I made many new friends and we shared a bond that was created because of soccer. Soccer also taught me that you don't need to speak the same language to be able to understand or to communicate on the field. Take Real Madrid as an example, the players on that team have an unreal level of chemistry even though most of them speak a different language. Sports are played worldwide, which means people all over the world can enjoy the glory of sports.
Baseball is also another sport that I love to play when I have some free time. My dad was the person who introduced me to baseball, he taught me how the game works and how to throw a ball. My friends and I would go to D-Bat and take our anger out on some baseballs. It was a really good way to rerelease all the bad energy and it worked as therapy for us. My dad, brother, and I would spend hours watching baseball highlights, especially my favorite player, Javier Baez. He was my inspiration growing up as I wanted to be just like him. One thing that is different in baseball than in any other sport is the fact that there is no time clock meaning that the game will end when all 27 outs of the game are made and a team is up in runs, they're is also an extra inning rule that will keep going until a team comes out victorious. The longest game in MLB history was a shocking 26 innings in 1920, a normal baseball game has 9 innings, and the longest game was three games in one. Now I see why they call baseball, "America's favorite pastime", it's hours of enjoyable playing and watching time.
As a result, Sports is one of my favorite activities to do when I have free time. Playing them changed my life and it's an activity that will always bring me happiness. It also, can be used as a form of therapy and bring equality and bondage through its games. Sports are played worldwide, which means it's enjoyed by millions of people, one of them being me. Sports have taught me valuable lessons that can be used in life, For example, you can't win every game you play.
I agree sports have so many benefits and the love you make with that sport stays with you for the rest of your life
