Sports blogs: Which is Best?

After looking at multiple blogs, I landed on Sky Sports and Bleacher Report as my two main focus.

They both use very helpful information but in the end one is way better then the other.

We will describe the most likable features of the blogs, worst part of the blogs, the organization of both blogs, formats, and more.

What to like?

Sky Sports, as a whole is very well balanced and adds updated news to its blog every day. My favorite part of this blog is how is includes a huge variety of sports and doesn't just focus on a few. The blog includes many videos and article to its headlines from recent events and game. Also, the blog gives news for different Sky production like Sky News, and Sky Bet.

Bleacher Report is rather similar to Sky Sports, but both have their differences. I like how Bleacher Report has links and videos of "On Base With Mookie Betts", which is a sports podcast where Mookie Betts sits down and just talks about recent or past news with many different baseball athletes.

What to not like?

Sky sports looks very basic and it wouldn't really attract someone's attention by just looking at it. Also, this blog mostly focuses on teams that are located mainly in Europe.

Bleacher Report only really focuses on a few sports that have a larger American audience like football and basketball. This is something I don't like because there is other sports that attract people's interest but they are not really posted on Bleacher Report.

Organization

Sky Sports is more organized in news that have happened recently and that isn't really mentioned in normal television. the order of organization of Sky sports is:
  • Top Sports news
  • Sports happening live
  • Latest news
  • Videos/ Highlights
  • Sky Bet
  • Trending
  • Pundits
  • Features
  • Shows and Podcasts
  • Sky News
This blog has a wide spread of information that will clearly suit their intended audience.

Bleacher Report is little different as they only post list related new. Also, I noticed that this blog is way shorter than Sky Sports, but the order od organization of Bleacher Report is:
  • Top news
  • Trending
  • Fantasy Football
  • 'On Base' with Mookie Betts
  • ICYMI
  • NBA prospect highlights
This blog is mainly focused on common sports available in the U.S. which is their intended audience.

Format

Sky Sports formats its blog with the same text but they use a smaller font to present the sport that they are talking about, besides this they use a big amount of photos and video to give the audience a clearer idea of what they are watching.

Bleacher reports uses a different format as they use big and bold headlines to attract the audience attention and they use smaller text to give a better idea of what they are trying to present.

Purpose

I believe that both authors have the same purpose of giving the news to the intended audience, but I believe that Sky Sports executes is better because they share valuable information on the different sports while Bleacher Report mostly cares about listed and who is performing better.

Overall

Overall, I believe that Sky Sports is more of a reliable news blog for sports related news and Bleacher Reports is a better blog to see what other people think based on performers and stats. In my opinion I prefer and recommend Sky Sports for anyone interested in watching sports news.
